Clean books. Clear numbers.

Clean, current books aren't bureaucracy — they're the difference between deciding with data and guessing. We keep them that way without you touching a spreadsheet.

What this can cover.

Accounting & bookkeeping

Scope is set per client. Not every line below applies to every engagement — some are not necessary at all — and what we take on is agreed with you before any work starts.

310.1Monthly CloseTransactions categorized, accounts reconciled, and reporting on the cadence we agree with you.
310.2AP & ARBills paid on schedule, invoices out on time, and receivables actually followed up.
310.3Financial StatementsP&L, balance sheet, and cash flow — banker-ready, with commentary in plain English.
310.4Catch-Up & Clean-UpMonths or years behind, mixed personal charges, messy chart of accounts — we've seen worse and fixed it.
310.5Sales Tax FilingsMulti-state sales tax collected, filed, and remitted on calendar.

Why clean books compound.

The case

Messy books cost you three times: at tax time (your CPA reconstructs the year at CPA rates), at the bank (loans stall without current statements), and every day between (you're steering a business by its bank balance).

Clean monthly books reverse all three — and because Xel's tax team works from the same file, year-end becomes a formality instead of an archaeology project.

Grow into it

Start where you are. Most clients begin with bookkeeping and add controller or CFO work as the business grows — same team, same file, no handoff.

FAQs.

Quick answers
Can you work with my existing CPA?Yes — clean monthly books make any CPA faster and cheaper. Clean books, statements, and a year-end handoff your preparer can actually work from — whether or not that preparer is us.
Cash or accrual — which should we use?Cash basis is simpler and fine for many small businesses; accrual becomes the right answer as inventory, contracts, or lenders enter the picture. We will tell you which fits — and run the conversion when the time comes.
Do you handle invoicing and bill pay too?Yes — AP and AR are part of the engagement when you want them: bills scheduled and paid, invoices out on time, and receivables actually followed up.
We're two years behind. Seriously. That's a normal Tuesday here. Catch-up is scoped as a one-time project, then the monthly rhythm keeps you current forever after.
Do I have to switch to QuickBooks? It's our standard and usually worth the move, but we support other platforms where it makes sense — we'll advise honestly at the assessment.
What does bookkeeping cost?Flat monthly pricing based on transaction volume and complexity — most small businesses land in a few hundred dollars a month, quoted precisely after we see your books.

Switching without the drama.

Onboarding

The number-one reason businesses stay with books they hate is the fear of switching. So we made onboarding boring: week one, we take read access to your bank feeds, payroll, and current file and quote the catch-up scope before starting it. Weeks two to four, the catch-up runs as a one-time project — chart of accounts rebuilt, personal charges untangled, balances reconciled to the bank.

By the second month you are in the standing rhythm: transactions categorized weekly, accounts reconciled monthly, and statements delivered on schedule with plain-English commentary. Your old bookkeeper does not need to be confronted; we handle the handoff paperwork.

The stack is deliberately standard — QuickBooks Online, receipt capture from your phone, payroll through the platform you already use (we support Gusto, ADP, SurePayroll, and Paychex) — so you are never locked into anything proprietary to us.

And because the same file feeds your tax return and your CFO reporting, every hour of bookkeeping does triple duty.
